Thankful for little things

“The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you.” Robert Louis Stevenson

This is a good reminder for this day, even when we have a great vision and are reaching for the stars, just remember to enjoy those little things life is full of, be thankful for what we have, appreciate our loved ones more and be the positive influence we can we even in small little ways.

This is a cute video I found on Youtube about the little things in life

God turns trouble to blessings

Do you ever ask God for a trouble? I certainly don’t. But I do ask for strength and many times in order to strengthen me He sends the difficulties that workout the muscles of my faith.

I’ve heard of the Biosphere Two, a man-made living habitat in Arizona, where the designers failed to create wind within the structure. No wind to blow the trees back and forth created a problem: The trees would grow to a certain height and then topple over from their own weight. Lack of wind resulted in the trees not having a deeply extended root system.

Just as trees, we need the wind of adversity in order to grow our roots of faith deep. Those roots will keep us standing strong in face of anything that we will face in this life.

So, it is time to start being thankful for the ‘wind’ that God sends to strengthen us daily. He knows best and we just need to trust Him!

Stay Passionate by Asking

By Natalie Spark

Just came across a motivational reading today about being passionate about making a lasting impact wherever you are. Maybe what we do seems little and insignificant and we don’t see the end result. But even a drop of water can make a hole in a big rock over a period of time. Each one of us has an influence, and we are the ones to choose what that influence will be on the people around us. So it is important to choose wisely and be a positive influence, and over a time we will have a great impact on the world.

I’ll share the three points from Jay Nathan that have motivated me today to be faithful with little things that can have great influence:

  • We don't have forever.
  •  If you desire to make an impact, focus on it right now, where you are. It's easy to jump ship and go somewhere else, but the funny thing is that you always take yourself with you when you go.
  • Start small, make little bets, get little wins.
  •  The little wins are bigger than you think, and little wins turn into bigger ones with perseverance and time.
  • Prioritize
  • . It's easy to get frustrated that you can't resolve all the issues at once. But one thing's for sure, you'll never succeed unless you take the first step.

Jesus you are my companion

I love going for a walk with You. I know I can just be myself when taking a casual stroll on the beach. I like it when I don’t have to ‘perform’ in accordance with some high standard, don’t have to live up to some holy unattainable religious regulations, and I can be what you have created me to be. It is nice to just walk hand in hand with You, let you in to all my ‘secrets’. You love listening to them, even though there are no secrets for you, and you already know everything about me, everything that I do or even think. You still enjoy just being with me, being a friend that understands, that is sincerely interested in me and who I am.

I just love being with you, leaving all the pretences behind. I love telling you about my joys, my recent achievements, and the struggles I had along the way. And I thank you for being there for me, every step of the way, even though many times I thing I have done a good job on all my own, I know that without You am nothing. I cannot even begin to imagine how much you have to engineer from behind the veil in order to bring some awesome results in my life. How much does it even take to keep me safe day to day, how many angels does it take to protect me when I am out and about, with the hectic traffic and amazingly ‘skilled’ drivers in this country?! I am just humbled by Your diligent care & attendance to every detail of my life! Thank you, my Dear!
